What raw data do I need to provide?
At minimum, GigaPlumb needs three sets of data,
- Items (item number, status, UPC, MSRP, cost)
- Locations (location number, address, city, state, postal code)
- Sales (date, item number, location number, retail sales, units)
From these, we can generate a large number of dashboards, charts, and reports. With additional data, such as on-hands, returns, and location item assignments, we can produce even more in-depth information.
What raw data formats do you accept?
The simplest format is just flat text files of comma separated values, but we accept all sorts of formats. We have a “give us what you’ve got” philosophy when it comes to data formats. We’ve been converting data formats for over 10 years: XML, X12, spreadsheets, Access, etc., there’s a very good chance we’ve got a converter for it.
How do I get raw data to GigaPlumb?
You simply upload the files to the “Upload File” page in the GigaPlumb UI. During the setup process we’ll have setup the appropriate converter for your data, so GigaPlumb will now which conversion process to apply.
Can you upload my data automatically?
We can arrange to FTP (or SFTP) data from your servers at regular intervals. There is a one-time setup fee for this service, and a small additional monthly fee for monitoring.
Is my data safe?
We’re used to designing security for healthcare applications, so we’re very serious about data security. All data is kept in completely separate databases on secured servers in secure locations. There is no way anyone can accidentally access your data, dashboards, and reports. Feel free to contact us with any specific data security questions.
I need a report/chart that shows “x”. Can you build it for me?
If we have the necessary underlying data, sure. If it’s some super-duper incredibly complex report or chart, there may be a (reasonable) consulting fee. If you need something more elaborate, check out our Consulting Services
Can I get a copy of my data?
Anytime. Just email support and we’ll make the necessary arrangements.
I work with many small retailers, not a few large ones. Can GigaPlumb still help me?
Yes. Using GigaPlumb with many small retailers can still give you tremendous insights into your business. Instead of retailer data, we use your orders/sales to supply raw data to GigaPlumb. Since the individual retailers are probably not able to supply inventory data, inventory statistics will necessarily be limited.
How much does it cost?
GigaPlumb’s reasonable monthly subscription fees are based on the amount of data we have to analyze and store. It is not based on number of users, so all members of your team can benefit.
